On Friday, the Will County Coroner's Office identified the man killed Thursday as 20-year-old Samuel J. Martin of Joliet Township.

Albert-Lopez said a Volkswagen Jetta sedan and a Chevrolet Colorado truck were travelling north on Route 53 and a Cadillac sedan was travelling south on Route 53 when it failed to yield as it began to turn left, east, onto Louis Road.

As the Cadillac crossed over the northbound lanes, it was struck by the Volkswagen and the Chevrolet, state police said. Martin, an occupant of the Cadillac, was ejected from the vehicle, state police said.
