Firefighters Respond To Another House Fire In Joliet: 4 Photos
Fire crews from stations 1,6,7,8 and 9 responded to the scene.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Batusich said his agency battled a fire in the 3400 block of Karen Drive. At noon on Monday, Joliet's Fire Department responded to a structure fire inside the two-story house.
Company 7 arrived within 3 minutes of the call and were met with heavy fire and black smoke coming from the structure. The first arriving engine set up a defensive attack to control the fire. After the fire was knocked down crews performed an interior attack and search of the structure. The structure suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage, Batusich said.
Nobody was inside the structure at the time of the fire. There were no injuries, Batusich noted.

The fire was declared under control at 1 p.m. Crews remained on the scene for 90 minutes extinguishing hot spots and checking for extension. Fire crews from stations 1,6,7,8 and 9 responded. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
