Victim Identified For Crest Hill's Latest Slaying

Crest Hill's latest deadly shooting happened Thursday morning on Arbor Lane. The area has had numerous violent crimes over the years.

CREST HILL — One week after the Crest Hill shootout near the Merichka's Family Restaurant on Theodore Street and no arrests in the crime, someone has lost his life as the result of another shooting, this time it happened around 6:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of Arbor Lane.

On Thursday morning, Crest Hill police found a man who was shot, and he was rushed to a local hospital where he died of his wounds. On Friday, Will County Coroner Laurie Summers identified the gunshot victim as 43-year-old Timothy Wells.

The Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force was notified to help the Crest Hill Police Department with its homicide investigation.

"Initial reports appear to indicate that this was a targeted attack and there is no further danger to the public," Crest Hill Police posted on Facebook.

Crest Hill continues to have a substantial amount of violence, and in 2020, Crest Hill police investigated another killing that took the life of a 16-year-old boy from Tennessee who also lost his life to gunshots on Arbor Lane.
