Arkansas Trucker Arrested By Joliet Police On 6 Criminal Charges
Jason Jones, 44, hails from Mountainburg, Arkansas. Joliet police officer Cassie Socha had him arrested last week at the Super 8.

JOLIET, IL — A 44-year-old Mountainburg, Arkansas resident who was staying in Joliet last week is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police Officer Cassie Socha had Jason Jones arrested on charges of aggravated domestic battery and five counts of domestic battery.
Jones lost his SAFE-T-Act hearing in front of Will County's judiciary, resulting in his continued incarceration at the Will County Jail. Will County Judge Shenonda R. Tisdale determined that Jones meets the dangerousness standard of the SAFE-T-Act. His next court hearing will be June 26.
According to the Will County State's Attorney petition to dent pretrial release, at 11:28 p.m. June 9, Socha was called to the Super 8 on McDonough Street. In Room 302, the victim told the officer that her boyfriend hit her after an argument. The two had gone to a bar and when they returned to their room, Jones "flipped" and became violent, after asking it she could go home tomorrow, the court files show.

Socha saw the victim had a bloody lip, marks around her throat and a contusion above her right eye, according to court documents. The victim told Joliet police she had dated Jones for the past month, and they were in Joliet because he is a truck driver. Both of them are from Arkansas.
The woman told the officer that Jones "started kicking the sh** out of me" in the head, court files show. After being given an icepack to put on her head, the victim indicated that Jones choked her, but she could not remember if he used one hand or two hands, according to the documents.

She "did state she couldn't breathe and that she almost lost consciousness, and that is when the defendant started kicking her in the head," court documents said.
Joliet police later found Jones across the street at the Shell gas station. He insisted they only had an argument, no physical violence. "He stated the victim went through his phone and found out that his ex-wife wanted to get back together with him," the court records noted.
Joliet police recovered a foldable pocketknife from the Arkansas man, and he has three prior domestic battery convictions out of Arkansas. He was issued a Firearm Owners ID Card on April 29, but he does not have a concealed carry license, the court files point out.
