JOLIET, IL — The downtown Joliet $20 million City Square construction project of Austin Tyler Construction was the site of a Joliet police arrest this week. That's right. It happened around lunch time on Wednesday.

According to Joliet police, 56-year-old Curtis Williams of Joliet, was arrested and later released on a notice to appear on charges of criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer.

The arrest logs from police spokesman Tizoc Landeros show that around noon on August 27, Joliet officers were dispatched to the area of Chicago Street and Clinton Street for a report of an unwanted person refusing to leave a construction site.

Upon arrival, the officers saw Williams arguing and yelling at construction workers. Officers instructed Williams to step back from the construction fencing, but he refused to comply. When taken into custody, Williams became aggressive toward officers, cursed at them, and refused to provide his identity, Landeros pointed out.

Williams was transported to the Joliet Police Department for booking, where he was processed and released on a notice to appear without further incident.
