Bad Driver Caught Holding Heroin: Cops

Another motorist called the cops to complain about his driving, police said.

A Wilmington man’s bad driving got him caught holding heroin, police said.

Matthew Duering, 34, was behind the wheel of a white Oldsmobile on Division Street near Route 6 when a motorist called the cops to complain about his driving.

Grundy County Deputy Aaron Cory pulled Duering over, spoke with him and then searched his car. Cory found 30 bags of heroin, 21 syringes and unspecified drug paraphernalia, police said.

Duering was taken to the Grundy County jail. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic syringes, driving under the influence of drugs and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
