Beaten Woman Opened Door to Attacker: Cops
The woman opened her door and was clubbed in the head, police said.

The 51-year-old woman heard a knock on the door of her apartment in the John O. Holmes houses shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. She looked out her peephole, police said, recognized 59-year-old Sisco McKnight, and opened the door.
When she did, McKnight bludgeoned her with an unknown object, police said. The woman reportedly tried to defend herself but fell to the floor.
McKnight took off but officers responding to the commotion found her on the east side of the Jackson Street bridge, police said.
McKnight suffered a cut lip in the scuffle, police said, and the other woman had a bruised and swollen face. The cops called an ambulance but both women turned down a trip to the hospital.
McKnight was taken to the Will County jail.
