Joliet Man Tries To Strangle Woman: JPD

Joliet police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Phoenix Lane for a domestic attack. Jefhar Hollings is now in county jail.

JOLIET — A 26-year-old Joliet man from the 1300 block of Phoenix Lane is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Jefhar Hollings tried to strangle a woman inside his bedroom earlier this week.

Hollings was booked into the jail on charges of aggravated domestic battery.

Tuesday's arrest happened around 4:45 p.m.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, officers were called to a house on Phoenix Lane for a domestic disturbance in progress. English said the victim was interviewed by Joliet police, and they learned that Hollings had attacked and strangled her while in a bedroom of the home.

Hollings left the house prior to the arrival of Joliet police.

English said officers later discovered Hollings walking in the area, and he was placed into custody without incident.
