Black Lab Left in Hot Car Parked on Downtown Street: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man left an older, black Labrador in a car parked on a downtown street Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A call to the cops about the dog reportedly came in about 12:45 p.m. The Labrador was in a Dodge Neon parked on Webster Street, police said, and the car’s windows were rolled down a few inches.

The temperature at the time was 81 degrees, police said.

The driver, 46-year-old Jhon Sanchez, returned to his car about a half hour after the police arrived. Sanchez was issued a ticket.
