‘Blowing the Head Off’ Romeoville Cop Threat Lands Woman in Trouble With Law: Police
The woman was "obscene, lewd lascivious, filthy or indecent," according to police.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville woman made a threat about “blowing the head off” a Romeoville cop, police said, and is now wanted on a charge of telephone harassment.
Darla Waldrop, 48, said she had no idea police filed the charge against her and denied any wrongdoing.
“I never said that,” Waldrop said.

“I said I hate cops, because I do, I hate cops,” Waldrop said.
“This is ridiculous,” she said. “I did nothing wrong.”

Waldrop said the police have harassed her for 16 years and were dismissive of her when she reported that she had been sexually assaulted in April 2015.
“They treated me like crap,” she said. “They looked down at me.”
Romeoville police Cmdr. John Ferdinardo failed to respond to a call for comment about the case.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court, Waldrop, during an Aug. 8 telephone call with a police department employee, “made a comment regarding blowing the head off of a Romeoville police officer.”
Waldrop’s threat was “obscene, lewd lascivious, filthy or indecent,” the complaint said, which Waldrop disputes.
“All I did was call them,” she said, claiming she only wanted to discuss her report of the sexual assault.
“I begged them for help,” Waldrop said, “and they wouldn’t help me."
