Boating Accident Claims Oswego Woman’s Life

The 59-year-old woman drowned after a boating mishap, the coroner's office said.

An Oswego woman died at a Joliet hospital following a boating accident Tuesday on the Illinois River.

Linda Young, 59, was pronounced dead at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room shortly after midnight Tuesday. Her cause of death was listed as drowning, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Young was involved on a boating mishap on the Illinois River in Seneca, the coroner’s office.
