Brazen Teen Tied to Chilling Home Invasion: Cops

The 15-year-old was locked up in juvenile jail but his three alleged accomplices remain at large.

JOLIET, IL — A 15-year-old boy was part of a stickup crew that forced its way into a Bluff Street apartment and held a couple at gunpoint while they ransacked the place, police said.

The four alleged home invaders struck Jan. 28 — the same night a couple died in a murder-suicide in a neighboring apartment complex. The hooded crooks knocked on door of the couple’s apartment and when the 55-year-old man answered, pushed their way in, police said. The door reportedly hit the man in the face, cutting his cheek.

One of the home invaders held a gun on the man and the 48-year-old woman while the other three tore the place up looking for valuables, police said. They got their hands on two tablets, a laptop and a couple gold chains before taking off and splitting up to flee in different directions.
