Brick Incident On Cass Street Leads To Joliet Man's Arrest: English

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that a 28-year-old citizen from the near west side was arrested this week in connection with a brick incident on the city's east side.

Police said that Joshua Mcallister was charged and released, given a notice to appear in Will County's Courthouse on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and assault.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 9:08 a.m. Monday, officers on patrol near Cass Street and Scott Street saw two adult men in an argument. During the argument, Mcallister was seen picking up a brick and walking toward the other male, the arrest report showed.

Officers intervened and gave orders to Mcallister to drop the brick, to which he ignored. Mcallister allegedly pushed an officer in the chest when they took the brick from his hand, according to English. He noted that Mcallister was taken into custody without further incident.

Will County Jail logs indicate that Mcallister was in the jail for two days earlier this year in connection with a Joliet police arrest on multiple counts of domestic battery. He comes from the 400 block of Summit Street, which is near Broadway.
