Upon the officers' arrival, Carey was chasing a white vehicle with his arm raised, making stabbing motions, Landeros noted. The officer immediately drew his taser, issuing commands for him to drop the knife. Carey immediately complied with the officer's instructions and was taken into custody. During this incident, the occupants of the white vehicle and bystanders dispersed without speaking with any officers, the arrest report reflected.

According to Landeros, Carey was in an agitated state, expressing frustration toward the occupant of the white vehicle. During processing at the police station, Carey requested his belongings, but he was informed that they remained at the scene of his arrest. After completing the processing, he was released on a Notice to Appear.

However, Carey remained in the parking lot of the police station, shouting about his belongings. As officers approached him, he would run away and throw his glasses in an attempt to hit them, Landeros indicated.

After several encounters with Carey in the parking lot, he threw his glasses at an officer, striking them. He was subsequently taken to the ground and arrested, the arrest report noted.

Carey was escorted back to the Joliet Police booking area and processed for the new charges. He remained belligerent towards the officers and refused to stay seated in his cell. Carey began headbutting the cell door, resulting in a small cut on his forehead, Landeros pointed out.

He was later transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility without any further incidents. Will County's judges ordered Carey's release on Friday, the jail logs show.
