JOLIET, IL — The Will County State's Attorney's Office has filed criminal charges of child endangerment against 35-year-old Tatyanna Goss in connection with an incident last month at the Joliet Sam's Club store involving the woman's 2-year-old child.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:29 p.m. Nov. 13, officers responded to the parking lot of Sam’s Club at 325 S. Larkin Ave. for a child left unattended in a vehicle.

English said the unattended little girl was in a child seat in the rear seat of a vehicle. The vehicle was not running. The driver’s window and the rear passenger window were each partially rolled down. The child did not appear to be in distress, he said.

Moments later, police say the mother of the child, Goss, approached the vehicle. English said the 2-year-old child had been unattended in the vehicle for approximately 20 minutes. Goss was placed into custody without incident. The child was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for a precautionary medical evaluation. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was notified.

Goss was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a Notice to Appear. The child was placed in the care of her father, English told Joliet Patch.
