JOLIET, IL — Jalen Davis, the 18-year-old from the 900 block of Joliet's Campbell Street, has been captured by Joliet police yet again. Davis has been linked to more business robberies in recent months than anybody else in the community.

On Wednesday morning, Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced that Davis is now charged with an aggravated robbery at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

At 3:05 p.m., on Monday, the officers responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts at 312 Collins Street for a robbery. The robber implied he had a gun.

According to English, when an employee asked him if he needed assistance, Davis allegedly told the employee that he had a gun and lifted his pant leg to show the employee an ankle monitor that he was wearing. No weapon was seen. The employee backed away, and the man exited the store after stealing a floor jack.

Joliet police detectives quickly identified their robbery suspect as Davis. Tactical officers arrested Davis at his house in the 900 block of Campbell Street at 7:12 p.m. that night.

Upon questioning of Davis by detectives, he indicated his involvement in the robbery, English noted. Detectives determined that the weapon was only implied. Davis was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

On Dec. 11, Davis was the subject of a Joliet Patch story headlined,"More Crime At Slammers Stadium, Subway Restaurant, Grocery Store Tied To This Joliet Teen: Police Announce."
