The criminal complaint was filed Tuesday at the Will County Courthouse, five months after the 3-year-old child drowned.

WILMINGTON, IL — Five months after a 3-year-old child drowned in a backyard swimming pool over at the Deer Ridge subdivision, the Wilmington Police Department has brought four criminal charges against 36-year-old Wilmington resident Jolene Trost. The criminal complaint was filed Tuesday at the Will County Courthouse.
Wilmington police arrested Trost and brought her to the Will County Jail around 6:50 p.m. She was due to appear before a judge on Wednesday. Will County Jail records indicate that Trost got let out of the jail facility at 95 South Chicago Street at 4:25 p.m. She spent 22 hours in custody.
Trost is charged with four counts of endangering the life or health of a child. On May 15, the complaint alleges, Trost "failed to adequately supervise K.V., and said lack of supervision was a proximate cause of the death of K.V."

Someone at the property was already performing CPR when the police arrived.
