Chipotle Veggie Bowl Gave Teen E. Coli: Lawsuit
She got the bad veggie bowl at the Chipotle on South Weber Road in Bolingbrook.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A teenage girl caught a case of E. coli from a veggie bowl she bought from the Chipotle on South Weber Road, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.
Jaida Dowd, 16, got E. Coli in November, the lawsuit said. Jaida’s father, Daniel Dowd, is suing the Chipotle Mexican Grill corporation.
The lawsuit pointed out that Chipotle had a bit of a problem with E. coli across the country last year.

Jaida became “gravely ill” after she ate the veggie bowl, the lawsuit said.
The major symptoms of E. coli are bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting, according to the website Web MD.

The Illinois Department of Public Health Laboratories performed a test on a stool sample submitted by Jaida, the lawsuit said, and it “confirmed the contamination of Escherichia coli serotype 026.”
