Citgo Station Stickup — Gunman Escapes With Cash

The gas station was robbed in the middle of the day.

MINOOKA, IL — A hooded crook stuck up a Citgo station on Ridge Road Monday morning, pulling a gun on the clerk and absconding with cash, police said.

The thief struck shortly after 11:30 a.m. at the Citgo on Ridge near Interstate 80. He was armed with a handgun and reportedly wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black coat, blue jeans and white-rimmed, reflective lens sunglasses.

The gunman, who appeared to be in his 20s and of a medium build, demanded cash from the register and made his getaway in a blue Dodge Charger, heading southbound on Ridge Road.
