JOLIET, IL — A Chicago man wanted for posing as a woman’s boyfriend so he could steal an Apple laptop that she had delivered to a FedEx store was apprehended and locked up Tuesday.

Sadakai Minett, 39, was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of felony theft in connection with his alleged computer caper. Minett’s bond had been previously set at $50,000.

Minett went to a FedEx store on Route 59 in Plainfield in January and pretended to be the boyfriend of a 54-year-old Naperville woman who had ordered a MacBook Pro, police said. He presented store employees with a piece of mail bearing the woman’s address as corroboration, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court.
