Cops Raid House Looking For Gun, Find 3 Kids Living Unattended in Filth: Police
They found a gun too, police said.

JOLIET, IL — The cops raided a house on the Hill looking for a gun used in a recent spate of shootings and found three unattended children living in deplorable conditions, police said.
Officers armed with a search warrant hit the Englewood Avenue residence about 7 a.m. Wednesday. There were no adults around, police said, but there were two girls, ages 1 and 3, and a 2-year-old boy in the residence.
The 1-year-old was in a crib wearing only a diaper, police said, and the two older chldren were together in a bed.

The home was dirty and smelled of urine, police said. During the ensuing search, the officers reportedly found a pistol in a bedroom with nothing stopping the children from getting to it.
The pistol was reportedly unloaded but a full clip was sitting right next to it.

Officers called the children’s mother, 23-year-old Paris Crowder, and she explained that she was driving a cousin to a job in Woodridge, police said. She reportedly returned home about 45 minutes later and was arrested on charges of causing children to be endangered,the aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card.
The pistol turned out to have been stolen from a Bolingbrook resident, police said. The gun was submitted for testing to see if it had been used in any recent shootings.
