Cops Seize SUV From Grade School Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting Student
The Minooka man lost his Honda CR-V but can try to get it back next week.

The Joliet police seized a 2012 Honda CR-V belonging to 36-year-old Kyle Camp, who was a teacher at Dirksen Junior High School when he was arrested on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault earlier this month.
A Joliet West High School student reportedly alerted a Joliet police detective to Camp’s sex crimes.
The student told the detective Camp had sex with a 12-year-old, police said. The child’s sister also reportedly spoke with detectives and officers were sent to Dirksen to interview Camp.
By the time the cops got there, school officials had already removed Camp from the junior high, police said. Officers then went to his home on Maplewood Drive in Minooka and took him into custody.
Camp assaulted the student less than a month before his arrest, police said.
The cops confiscated Camp’s CR-V last week and the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office initiated forfeiture proceedings. Camp has a March 23 court date to try and get his vehicle back.
Camp may find it difficult to attend the hearing as he remains in custody at the Grundy County jail. The sex crime charges were filed against him in Grundy County court and his next appearance was scheduled for March 24.
