Cops Trying to Take Pickup Away From Joliet Man Charged With Fleeing Crash, Falling Down Drunk
He fled a crash and headed to a bar, where he fell down in the parking lot, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man’s bad day — sideswiping a parked car, fleeing to a Meeker Avenue bar and drunkenly passing out in the parking lot before getting carted off to jail, according to police — just got worse now that the cops are trying to take away his pickup truck.
Prosecutors filed a petition to seize the 2014 Chevy Silverado Abel Alvarado, 66, was allegedly driving when he crashed into a parked car Sunday night before heading over to Los Diaz bar on Meeker.
The owner of the car Alvarado hit witnessed the accident and took off on foot after him, police said. A relative of the vehicle owner reportedly picked the running man up and together they tailed Alvarado to the bar. They also called the cops.

The men watched as Alvarado pulled into the Los Diaz parking lot and tried to climb out of his pickup but instead fell to the ground, where he remained sprawled until the cops arrived, police said.
Alvarado was booked into the Will County jail but was released the next evening on $35,000 bond. He is due back in court on his criminal case April 28.
