She tried to pick up some promethazine with codeine, police said.

WILMINGTON, IL — A wanted Chicago woman’s bid to obtain prescription cough medicine landed her in jail Monday, police said.

Tanaya Mitchell, 30, attempted to use a fraudulent prescription to pick up promethazine with codeine cough syrup from Doc’s Drugs Monday afternoon, police said. Promethazine with codeine is the key ingredient in the intoxicating concoction purple drank.

Officers called to Doc’s Drugs spotted a blue Nissan matching the description of Mitchell’s car. The Nissan was parked in a lot on Water Street and when the officers looked inside the car, police said, they saw Mitchell fully reclined in the passenger seat, laying completely flat. She reportedly appeared nervous.
