Man Injures Relative, Joliet Police Officer Before Collins Street Arrest: JPD
Joliet police officers found 22-year-old Eric Liacone near Herkimer Street and Columbia Street.

JOLIET, IL — A 22-year-old man from the 600 block of Collins Street has been freed from the Will County Jail after being arrested over the weekend in connection with allegations of injuring a family member and a responding Joliet police officer.
Joliet police said that Eric Liacone was charged with domestic battery, aggravated resisting a police officer and obstructing a peace officer.
At 1:17 a.m. Nov. 30, officers responded to the 600 block of Collins Street for a domestic disturbance. Police spokesman Dwayne English said the officers learned that Liacone had attacked a family member.

While Liacone was walking home from a gathering on Collins Street, Liacone began to argue with one of his relatives and pushed the relative to the ground, the arrest report alleges.
Officers found Liacone near Herkimer Street and Columbia Street. He ignored commands to stop and continued to walk away; officers caught up to him and attempted to place him into custody and began to pull away, authorities said.

Liacone was eventually placed into custody following a struggle in which an officer was hurt, suffering a lower leg injury, according to English. The officer and Liacone’s victim were taken to an area hospital by the Joliet Fire Department for treatment of their injuries, English said. The officer was treated and released.
Liacone was let out of the Will County Jail on Monday just before supper time.
