Dangerous Accumulation of Lettuce and Mayonnaise at Potbelly Caused Woman’s Scarring and Permanent Injuries: Lawsuit

She slipped and fell on the accumulation of lettuce and mayonnaise, the lawsuit said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A woman was left disabled and permanently scarred after she slipped and fell on lettuce and mayonnaise at a Bolingbrook Potbelly, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

Jennifer Jones is suing the sandwich shop company over the permanent injuries she claims to have suffered in her alleged July 2014 tumble.

Jones was at the Potbelly on Boughton Road when she slipped on an “accumulation of lettuce and mayonnaise … near the sandwich making area,” the lawsuit said.

The lettuce and mayonnaise “constituted an unreasonably dangerous condition,” according to the lawsuit, and “Jones suffered severe, irreversible, and permanent injuries,” and “has been permanently scarred and disabled,” not to mention the “substantial sums” she spent on medical care.

Jones wants Potbelly to pay her at least $50,000 for all of that, the lawsuit said.
