Dark, Wet Courthouse Ladies’ Room Claims Casualty: Lawsuit

A Countryside woman was injured when she slipped and fell on the wet floor of a dimly lit courthouse ladies' room, a lawsuit said.

JOLIET, IL — A Countryside woman slipped on the wet floor of a dimly lit ladies’ room in the Will County courthouse, according to a lawsuit she filed against the county.

Wincie Collins suffered and injury when she fell in the third floor ladies’ room in August, the lawsuit said.

Not only was the floor wet, according to the lawsuit, but the lighting was inadequate and there were no signs or barricades warning of the wetness.

Collins still suffers “severe physical pain and anguish” nearly a full year after the fall, her suit said, and the county needs to pay her for that.
