Death Threats and Dirty Words Land Matteson Man in Hot Water With Cops: Complaint

The Mokena police filed a felony case against the alleged harasser.

A Matteson man has a warrant out for his arrest charging him with sending vulgar texts and death threats to a woman.

Michael Prokop, 35, faces a felony harassment charge for allegedly sending the obscene and threatening text messages.

Prokop “sent a string of text messages, using vulgar swear words, and other offensive language, including comments in which he threatened to kill” a woman and her child, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Prokop, an Amtrak mechanic, did this on Tuesday, the complaint said.

The warrant for Prokop’s arrest carries a $25,000 bond.

The Mokena police investigated Prokop’s alleged harassment of the woman and brought the case against him.

The Mokena cops also arrested Prokop in September. He was held in the Will County jail for six days and then taken to Lake County, Indiana, to answer a charge of invading privacy.
