CREST HILL — Will County Judge Donald DeWilkins has signed off on a warrant allowing the Crest Hill Police Department to arrest 44-year-old resident Tamica Neal in connection with the recent stabbing of a dog. Wednesday's criminal complaint from the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow indicates Neal is being charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of domestic battery.

On March 17, Neal committed an act that caused a companion animal, a dog, to suffer serious injury or death, in that the Crest Hill woman stabbed the dog with a knife, according to her criminal complaint.

In addition to that, Neal swung her knife at two different people, putting them both in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery, the complaint informed Judge DeWilkins.

The domestic battery charge indicates that there was a third human victim, and Neal is accused of striking a man about the body.

According to Tuesday's arrest warrant, DeWilkins informed Crest Hill police that he wants Neal held without release for a pretrial detention hearing. Neal comes from the apartment units in the 1300 block of Rock Run Drive.
