The cousin looked on as both drivers were killed in a head-on collision.

HOMER GLEN, IL — A man looked on as his cousin was killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning, police said.

Sameh Atiq, 20, pulled into the left lane to pass his cousin on 151st Street near Cedar Road and ran head-on into a car driver by 32-year-old Noah Kask, police said.

Atiq, a Lockport resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the 5 a.m. crash. Kask, a Homer Glen resident, was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox where he later died.

Atiq’s cousin was heading to work at the time of the deadly wreck. It was unclear why Atiq pulled into the left lane to pass him or where Atiq was going.
