Drunk Driver Sped Off With 3 Kids In Car While Deputy Was Giving Her A Ticket: Cops
They caught the Shorewood woman in a Walgreens parking lot, police said.

Sandra Gasaway, 40, of Shorewood, was pulled over shortly before 2 a.m. when a Will County deputy spotted her swerving in traffic on Route 59 near Renwick Road, then looked on as she nearly crashed into another car while making an illegal turn, police said.
During the traffic stop, Gasaway reportedly kept getting out of her car to speak with the deputy, and was told three times to stay in her seat. Then, while the deputy was standing at Gasaway’s driver’s side window and trying to give her a ticket, she allegedly dropped her car into drive and sped off with tires squealing.
Gasaway headed for a Walgreens parking lot where deputies — after struggling with her — took her into custody, police said.
“Three preteens were inside the vehicle during the incident,” police said. They were reportedly turned over to relatives.
Gasaway was arrested and taken to the Will County jail. She was booked on charges of fleeing the police, driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic control device, squealing her tires, making an improper turn, and endangering the life of a child.
