Drunken Daughter Wouldn't Go Away, Kicked Cop: Police

Her mother didn't want her around, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A drunken Joliet woman wouldn’t leave her mother’s house and then kicked a cop in the leg as officers were escorting her out, police said.

Officers were sent to the Nicholson Street home where Denise Maybury, 38, lived with her 55-year-old mother about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The mother had reportedly called the cops because Maybury was drunk and wouldn’t go away.

After officers arrived, Maybury allegedly threatened to punch one in the mouth and made a move toward him.

Maybury’s mother then offered to give her money for a motel room if she would just leave.

As the officers were leading Maybury out of the house, she kicked one of them in the leg, police said.

Maybury reportedly struggled with the police but was eventually handcuffed and taken to the station. There, she threatened an officer, according to police, saying she would “break (his) eye.”

Maybury was then taken to the Will County jail.
