NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man secretly recorded cops who went to his house to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance, police said.

Daniel Murphy, 25, was taken to the Will County jail and booked on a charge of felony eavesdropping. He was also charged with assault.

The police were reportedly sent to Murphy’s Meadow Path home late Saturday night to look into a complaint of a domestic disturbance.

“While handling the domestic, Murphy informed the officers that he was surreptitiously recording the officers,” police said.
