Elderly Woman Killed in Sunday Evening Crash

A 75-year-old woman was killed in a Sunday evening crash at the intersection of Smith Road and 135th Street in Lockport Township.
Lockport resident Joan Kaczmarek was pronounced dead after she arrived at Silver Cross Hospital.
Kaczmarek’s 2002 Mazda was hit by a 2011 Nissan driven by Romeoville resident Jerry Moretti shortly after 5 p.m., police said. Moretti, 51, allegedly disobeyed a stop sign.
