Ex-Con Who Broke Into House and Roughed Up Sleepy Old Man Now Caught With Pistol: Cops

The Lockport woman is back in jail after nine months of freedom.

A Lockport woman who allegedly forced her way into an old man’s house, roughed him up and demanded his money is back behind bars.

This time, Dayna McCarter, 37 and fresh out of prison, allegedly got caught with a pistol. She had no Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and —since she’s a felon — can’t have a gun in the first place, police said.

McCarter was in possession of a Bersa .380-caliber pistol in March — a mere two weeks after she got off parole, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court.

Back in 2013, McCarter, who was living in Joliet at the time, forced her way into the Lockport home of a sleeping 82-year-old man.

She pushed the man to the floor, according to a criminal complaint, and allegedly demanded his money before fleeing.
