Expect Delays, Road Closures: Glenwood Avenue Water Main Project Under Way

Postponed work on the Glenwood Avenue Water Main Improvement Project originally set to begin on June 5 has started.

JOLIET, IL - Postponed work on the Glenwood Avenue Water Main Improvement Project that was originally expected to begin on June 5 is officially under way.

Construction consists of installing a new water main on Glenwood Avenue (Woodlawn to Wilcox), Wilcox (Douglas to Glenwood), and Midland (Glenwood to Campbell). Work kicked off this week and should take approximately six months.

During the span, residents should expect lane closures and other traffic flow modifications, according to local officials. The contractor, Austin Tyler Construction Company, will take measures to ensure residents are able to get in and out of driveways.
