Female Bartender Attacked By Joliet Man Cut Off From Drinking: JPD

As Joliet police tried to secure Ramones into a squad car, he kicked one officer and tried to headbutt another officer, authorities say.

JOLIET, IL — For the fourth time since 2019, Joliet Broadway Street resident Isaac Ramones was booked into the Will County Jail last week, after Joliet police say the 36-year-old man caused a scene inside Johnny's on Hickory and violently attacked the female bartender who refused to serve Ramones any more alcohol because of his intoxication.

Ramones was booked into the Will County Jail on Thursday evening and he was charged with a lot of crimes:

  • Aggravated battery
  • Aggravated assault
  • Obstructing justice
  • Resisting a peace officer
  • Battery
  • Criminal trespass to property
  • Disorderly conduct.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events led to the capture of Ramones on Thursday:

  • At 8:48 p.m., Joliet police responded to Johnny’s on Hickory at 1008 North Hickory Street for a disturbance. Ramones entered the bar and began acting belligerent toward other customers and the female bartender refused to further serve Ramones due to his intoxication.

  • Ramones refused to leave the bar when the bartender asked. Then he threw his debit card to the floor and when the bartender attempted to retrieve Ramones’ debit card from the floor, he pushed her, his arrest reports show.
  • After Ramones exited the bar, Joliet police found Ramones near Hutchins Street and Summit Street and the officer took him into custody following a brief struggle as Ramones repeatedly attempted to pull away.
  • While the officers tried to secure Ramones into a squad car, he kicked one officer and tried to headbutt another.
  • At the Joliet Police Department, he refused to cooperate with booking procedures, and he was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

On Saturday afternoon, Ramones walked out of the Will County Jail after regaining his freedom under the SAFE-T-Act. Ramones comes from the 500 block of North Broadway, his jail records reflect.
