Fire Destroys Joliet Business Along West Jefferson Street: Photos

While en route, dispatch received additional calls of a building on fire.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet business was destroyed over the weekend due to an overnight fire.

Battalion chief Joe Vish said the fire happened around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday as the Joliet Fire Department responded to 710 West Jefferson for an automatic fire alarm activation.

While en route, dispatch received additional calls of a building on fire. Company 5 arrived first to find a 1-story commercial building with heavy fire showing from the front windows, Vish noted.

The fire was declared under control at 4:13 a.m. Search and Rescue crews determined that the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident. There were no injuries.
