Frank Thomas Coming To Joliet's New Goodfellas Cigar Lounge: Event Details Revealed

JOLIET, IL — On Thursday, October 16, Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas—known to fans as “The Big Hurt”—will be in Joliet to meet community members as part of a special evening at the new Goodfellas Cigar Lounge at 2138 West Jefferson Street, next to the Rax Roast Beef.

The family behind Goodfellas has operated successful businesses in Joliet for more than a decade, and this new lounge represents their latest investment in the community. The space features a 500-square-foot humidor and is designed as a gathering place to watch sporting events, host private celebrations, or simply relax.

Thomas, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014, will be on site to greet fans and autograph bottles from his FT35 brand. The event is framed as both a celebration of a local family’s new business and an opportunity for residents to connect with a Chicago sports legend.

According to Goodfellas Cigar Lounge owner, Ammar Sheikah, people will need to purchase a bottle through the Joe's Beverage website which will be their ticket to attend the Frank Thomas event. The ticket purchase also includes a $20 voucher for cigars. There will also be several cigar vendors at the Frank Thomas autograph event, he said.

Sheikah explained people don't need to go to the Romeoville liquor store to get their bottle. The bottles will be available for pick up at Goodfellas on the day of the event, starting at 5 p.m.
