JOLIET, IL — Three months after opening its doors to customers with its first location in Joliet, Fry the Coop is celebrating the grand opening with free sandwiches and a ribbon cutting on Thursday.

The Joliet location is the 10th opening for Fry the Coop since opening Oak Lawn in 2017. The new Fry the Coop in Joliet is at 2611 West Jefferson Street. For the past 10 years, the location served as the Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes.

According to the company, Mayor Terry D'Arcy will join founder Joe Fontana for a ribbon cutting to mark the occasion at 4 p.m., and Fry the Coop will be giving away free sandwiches (one per person) from 5 to 10 p.m. as a thank you to the Joliet community for providing such a warm welcome this summer.

According to Fontana, Fry the Coop's goal is to "deliver happiness every day, from being a local eatery ingrained in the community to bringing a smile to everyone's face with our food." Additional locations include: Oak Lawn, Chicago-West Town, Chicago-Lincoln Park, Chicago-Portage Park, Elmhurst, Darien, Prospect Heights, Tinley Park and Bolingbrook.
