Fugitive Killer Captured in Texas: Cops

The Chicago man was apprehended in a Dallas Walmart parking lot, police said.

A fugitive killer was captured Wednesday in the parking lot of a Dallas Walmart, police said.

Jesus Larosa, 47, allegedly murdered 85-year-old Alfred Hilton in May 2014.

Sheriff’s deputies found Hilton dead when they were sent to his Crete home after he missed a church event.

“Hilton was discovered on his kitchen floor and had been severely beaten and strangled to death,” police said.

“Sheriff's detectives have worked diligently on this case and continued their investigations when new leads would come forward,” police said. “Recently, a new tip came in which enabled Sheriff's detectives to identify Larosa as a new suspect.”

A warrant for Larosa’s arrest was issued March 28 but was kept under seal. One of Larosa’s acquaintances still found out about the warrant and tipped him off, police said, and Larosa took off for Alabama.

It was not clear how or when Larosa headed from Alabama to Texas, but police said they searched for him in both states, as well as Georgia.

The warrant for Larosa’s arrest carries a $3 million bond.

Larosa had already served 20 years in prison for a prior murder conviction. He was on parole when Hilton was murdered.
