Gloria A. Hritz

Beloved Mother, Grandmother (Nonie), and Great Nonie.

Gloria A. Hritz passed away peacefully on July 2nd in Middleton, WI. She was born January 20, 1932 in Joliet, IL, where she lived for 87 years before moving to the Madison area to be closer to family. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother (Nonie) and Great Nonie. After high school graduation she worked at the Joliet Arsenal, where her boss introduced her to the love of her life, Raymond Hritz. They married in 1952, and had two daughters. After raising their girls, she spent most of her time volunteering and traveling with Ray in their RV, eventually becoming ‘snow birds’ for 13 years in Arizona. Gloria touched countless lives through her volunteer work. She was a longtime member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and CCW member. Her many volunteer organizations include Senior Services Meals on Wheels, Leeza’s Place, Cornerstone Services, and 25 years of ticket taking, ushering, bartending and fundraising at the Rialto Theater. She was a board member of ‘TOPS’, served as the local and state treasurer of Fox Valley Winnies and a member of the ‘BLW Club’ for over 60 years. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Janet Knudson (Jim) and Daun Talbott (Ed); two granddaughters Laura Scheider (Dan) and Morgan Deering (Nick). She has six great grandchildren that gave her countless smiles; Elizabeth, Madison, Wyatt, Owen, Levi and Tate. She was preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Theresia (nee Kompare) Seno two brothers James and Ralph Seno, her infant sister and her beloved husband of 48 years, Raymond. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace Foundation (Hospice) 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or your favorite foundation. Daughters Jan and Daun would like to give special thanks to Brookdale Century Avenue Assisted Living and Agrace Hospice for their loving care. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1705 Burry Circle, Crest Hill, IL, Thursday July 10th with a visitation in the vestibule from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
