Goat Stolen

MANHATTAN, IL — A goat was stolen from a property on West Pauling Road.

The goat thief pulled onto the property in a black pickup truck on the morning of Sept. 5, police said.

The man loaded a brown, male goat into the back of the pickup but — before he could make his getaway — was questioned by workers on the property.

The man explained that he had bought the goat from its owner, then got back in his truck and drove off.

The goat’s owner later revealed that he had not sold it to anyone.
