Gunshot Victim From Oscar Ave. Won't Help Sheriff's Office Solve Shooting: Will County
Crime scene investigators processed the scene and recovered approximately twenty-four 9mm shell casings in the area.

JOLIET, IL — Every once in a while, the Joliet area police agencies encounter someone who has suffered a gunshot wound and the victim does not want to help detectives solve their crime. Such a scenario happened over the weekend, Will County Sheriff's officials said on Facebook.
On Sunday, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Will County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Oscar Avenue in Joliet Township following a report of gunfire. In the east side neighborhood, deputies saw four bullet holes in the front exterior wall of a house. The home was occupied at the time, but none of the residents were injured. Occupants told investigators they were awakened by the sound of multiple gunshots outside the home and called 911.
Will County's Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and recovered approximately two dozen 9mm shell casings in the area.

As part of the ongoing investigation, sheriff's deputies contacted area hospitals and discovered that a man had arrived at St. Joe's hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. The shooting victim has not cooperated with investigators at this time, Will County officials said.
