Gunshots On Fiday Road Damage 2 Vehicles Of Nearby Homeowners

JOLIET — In recent years, the Joliet Police Department has been summoned to investigate violent crimes and high-speed chases along Fiday Road. This past weekend, Joliet police learned that at least two vehicles belonging to the nearby homeowners sustained damage as the result of gunfire that took place during the late night hours of Saturday.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, officers were called to the 3000 block of Fiday Road at 10:05 a.m. Sunday for a report of two unoccupied vehicles struck by gunfire.

A Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Silverado were struck while parked in the 3000 block of Fiday Road. "At this time, the damage is believed to be related to the shots-fired call that officers responded to October 26, 2024. No injuries were reported," English said in a release.

As for the original Joliet police call at 11:31 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 3700 block of Fiday Road for a report of gunshots. At the scene, the officers were unable to find any victims or property that had been struck by gunfire. A canvass of the neighborhood was completed by the officers.

Meanwhile, one Joliet area resident notified Joliet Patch that his daughter and her family live along Fiday Road. "Saturday night a party was held by a family for Halloween, more than 100 cars flooded to the area that night as Facebook ignited a party storm. The police was called over a disturbance at 10 p.m. At 11 p.m. as these people from as far away as Chicago was leaving, gunfire broke out. Eleven shots were heard, and two cars was hit with bullets in the driveway."
