Harassed Mom Says She Received Death Threats From Ex While She Filed Report With Cops

She said the threatening texts popped up on her phone while she was at the Mokena Police Department.

An Indiana mom said her ex-fiance threatened to kill her and their son while she was at the Mokena Police Department filing a report against him.

Michael Prokop, 35, was jailed Friday afternoon for allegedly sending the vulgar, threatening texts to the 31-year-old mother of his son.

The Indiana woman said Prokop was furious with her for refusing to go out and buy him synthetic marijuana.
“I said, ‘No, I’m not doing this anymore,’” the woman recalled.

The woman, Prokop and their 4-year-old son were together at his mother’s Mokena home Tuesday when he ordered her to go out and buy the synthetic marijuana, then bring it back for him, she said.

After she turned him down and left with their son, she said, Prokop followed her outside, kicked her car and chased after them. She said Prokop, with whom she has lived for five and a half years, was driven to anger by his addiction to synthetic marijuana, or K2.

“Once he started smoking K2, everything went down the tubes,” she said.

“When he runs out, it’s like withdrawal,” she said. “It gets horrible.”

Prokop started smoking K2 because it won’t turn up on a drug screen, she said. The warrant for Prokop’s arrest says he is employed by Amtrak as a mechanic.

“He smokes this stuff at work, which just blows my mind,” she said.

The woman said she went from Prokop’s mother’s place to the Mokena Police Department, and while she was there she received the threatening texts.

“As I’m sitting in the police station he texted me these death threats and things,” she said.

The woman provided Patch with screenshots of the texts Prokop allegedly sent.

“U stupid f****** c--t im gonna kill u and that brat tonight not getting my stuff from zack f*** u c--t u will be 6 foot f****** under,” one text says.

“U stupid f****** c--t i will burn that house to the f****** ground with u and the boy in it f*** u c--t,” says another.

The police picked up Prokop at his father’s home in Matteson, the woman said. His bond was previously set at $25,000.
