'Hardworking & Selfless Joliet Mom Always Puts Family First

JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Miranda, Paige, and Troy who nominated Ayme Picciolo of Joliet.

What makes your Mom extra special?

What makes my mom special is her hardworking and selfless attitude. Having put three kids through private school education did not come easy. She has always and continues to put her kids first. There’s not a day that goes by where we don’t feel her love. Whether it’s randomly making our favorite meal or baking our favorite dessert, to just asking us how our day has been, she does so much and we’d like to show our appreciation.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

You could probably Google “Ayme Picciolo” and get less than 500 results due to the uniqueness of the spelling of her first name. And just like her name she herself is one in a million. She deserves this spotlight for we know we don’t tell her enough of how grateful we are to have her as a mom. But thankfully Mother’s Day is a reminder as to how lucky we are and to recognize the special woman who we call “Mom.”
