3 People Rescued From Balcony During Essington Road Apartment Fire: Joliet Fire Dept
All residents were accounted for after the blaze brought dozens of firefighters to the scene.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department said seven tenants from the Twin Oaks Apartments at 115 Essington Road were treated for minor injuries and three people were rescued from an apartment balcony during a fire Tuesday morning.
The city's Emergency and Disaster Management Office is leading efforts to relocate several apartment dwellers who lost their homes during Tuesday's 8:17 a.m. fire, one of the largest fires in the city of Joliet in 2025.
The fire spread into the attic, and the fire was declared under control at 9:23 a.m. A total of 40 firefighters from Stations 1, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 helped extinguish the blaze.

Joliet police have blocked off Essington Road as multiple fire trucks extended their ladders high into the air to allow firefighters to spray thousands of gallons of water toward the roof of the building,
At 9:15 a.m., Joliet police issued a traffic advisory letting citizens know that Essington was closed from Twin Oaks Drive to Glenwood Avenue for a structure fire.
