Indecent Proposal Ends With Woman Getting Knifed in the Eye: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A woman upset about an ex-convict propositioning her for sex after she went to his motel room to bum a cigarette and something to drink told her boyfriend about it and ended up getting knifed in the eye during the ensuing fight, police said.

Officers were sent to the Zip Fitness on West Jefferson Street shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday to look into a report of a woman who had been stabbed in the eye. The woman was outside the fitness center with her husband, police said, and they were both “highly intoxicated.”

The woman, who actually had only been cut in her “eye area,” explained that she had gone to a room at the Fenton Motel across the street to ask a guest for a cigarette and a drink, police said.

The guest — 53-year-old ex-convict Eric Walker — obliged, police said, but also propositioned the woman for sex.

The woman, her sensibilities offended, told her husband about the indecent proposal, police said. The husband was also reportedly angered and the couple went back to the Fenton to confront Walker.

Witnesses told police of watching the three fight in the motel parking lot, police said. During the scuffle, Walker allegedly knifed the woman in the eye.

The cops reportedly went to Walker’s motel room and took him into custody. He was charged with aggravated battery and obstructing justice. A warrant was also issued to revoke his parole.

Walker was released from prison in November. He did time for aggravated battery, theft, burglary, robbery, arson and damaging property.

Walker was taken to the Will County jail.
