The student's mother is suing the Troy school district.

JOLIET, IL — An intermediate school student suffered injuries when she hit the floor after she was tossed in the air during practice, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.
Tina Biancorosso, the mother of Samantha Biancorosso, sued the Troy school district over the alleged October mishap at William B. Orenic Intermediate School.
Samantha was a student at William B. Orenic and at the school for cheerleading practice, the lawsuit said.

Samantha was “directed to practice a cheerleading routine requiring her to be ‘tossed’ in the air,” the suit said. “This routine took place on thin gymnastic mats placed on top of a tile floor and with an inadequate number of spotters, outside the direct observation of any adult representative of the” school district.
Samantha suffered both internal and external injuries which still cause her pain in her body and mind, the lawsuit said.
